Their function is to give a normal shape for the developing skull, promote a healthy skull and prevent deformities. During the period of treatment with this orthosis, a continuous medical supervision, a consultation with the orthopaedic technician and the parent is provided. Skull corrective helmets are made after very careful preparation. Measurements and documentation are taken at each session, so that progress can be monitored. All this is done in collaboration with a medical expert. The helmets are made from special plastic material, which is digitally sampled and padded on the inside. Digital sampling is done with a 3D camera, with no or minimal touching of the head. The advantage of digital technology is that the spatial pattern is taken in few minutes without plaster casting, and then the sample will be processed digitally.
